Enasec Limited have sponsored the 2009 University of Huddersfield Formula Student car.

We were invited to the grand unveiling of the HARE 09, powered by a 600cc Honda CBR Fireblade motorbike engine. The students have supercharged it to give it roughly 430bhp per tonne, more than a £140,000 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550.

Enasec joined other University sponsors, engineering professionals and students to welcome a Formula 1 engineer as the young engineers geared up themselves for a battle of their own. The team of 34 university students launched their single-seater race car as they prepared to bid for glory at the Formula Student motorsport challenge at Silverstone. The students were joined by Red Bull Racing Formula 1 engineer Peter Hewson, once a Huddersfield University student, as they unveiled their hand built car, set to take on more than a hundred teams from other universities next weekend.

The four-day event at the world famous F1 circuit pits the finest university talent from across the world against each other in a series of racing and engineering categories. This was the university’s tenth year at the event and members of Team Hare said this was their best chance of glory in a long time.
